The Word Made Flesh
This is my first and so far only tattoo. It’s been a year and I’m still enamored with its permanence on my skin, the ideas it represents, and the man who wrote it. The quote came from a passage where Viktor Frankl recounted how thoughts of his wife kept him going through the Holocaust, and it was the most moving thing I’ve ever read. After 19 years of hearing all the tired lines about love that have been repeated for centuries, this is the first moment I actually believed any of them. I don’t go anywhere without this book and I’m going to carry his philosophy with me for the rest of my life.
